Introduction

Trustee is a Chrome Extension that leverages advanced AI to protect users from scams on online marketplaces. It acts as a real-time trust advisor, analyzing listings and conversations to help users make informed decisions. The AI, powered by Mistral AI, simulates realistic decision-making and provides detailed trust scores for sellers and listings.

This project was developed during the ESSEC Hackathon 2025, focusing on the transition from LLMs to agentic AI.

Context

This project was created during the ESSEC Hackathon 2025, which took place in April 2025. The hackathon focused on developing solutions that bridge the gap between Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI systems.

Technical Notes

Trustee uses a combination of technologies to provide its scam detection capabilities:

• Frontend: React.js for the Chrome Extension interface
• Backend: Node.js for API handling and processing
• AI: Mistral AI for natural language processing and decision making
• Cloud: AWS for hosting and scaling
• Hardware Acceleration: NVIDIA for improved AI performance

The extension works by:

1. Analyzing marketplace listings using computer vision and NLP
2. Monitoring chat conversations in real-time
3. Generating trust scores based on multiple factors
4. Providing actionable insights to users

Getting Started
